Brown aluminum oxide abrasive is fused and crystallized under high temperature from a mixture of bauxite and other materials. It is characterized by its high
hardness, good toughness and sharp shape in particles. Suitable for grinding metals of high-tensile strength such as carbon stele, general purpose alloy steel, malleable cast-iron and hard bronze etc.
Brown fused alumina, also known as carborundum, is made from bauxite and petroleum coke as raw material, melting in an electric arc furnace at a high temperature of 2200℃. It is a brown hexagonal crystal with a hardness of mosh 9.
Application
- Brown fused alumina is the most common abrasives used by industry for refractory materials, sandblasting, free grinding, resin abrasives, coated abrasives, waterjet cutting, water filtration and function filter, etc.
- Brown fused alumina is used for lapping and polishing process.
- Brown fused alumina is used for making producing molds in precision casting.
