REFRACTORY WHITE ALUMINUM OXIDE is fused in an electric furnace using high-grade bayer-processed alumina as raw material. It has higher hardness and slightly lower toughness compared with brown fused alumina. Among its properties as a high-grade refractory are high purity, acid and alkali resistance, good thermal stability.
White Fused Alumina is made from industrial alundum, melting in
an electric arc furnace and cooling. It has a higher hardness and lower
crisp than brown fused alumina. The grains are white and the white
color strengthened as the grains being attenuated.
Application:
- White fused alumina is usually used for high grade refractory
material, and also for ceramic, resin bonded abrasive grinding,
sandblasting and precision casting. - White fused alumina is used for lapping, polishing, non-skid tile,
and pressure blasting when a high purity and highly friable abrasive is
needed.
